Event Activities and Content
The IBS has a vibrant combination of product showcases, extensive educational programming, and a plethora of networking opportunities attractive to professionals in the residential construction trade. The 2025 International Builders’ Show (IBS) that took place in Las Vegas was recognized as one of the largest and most vibrant programs in a number of years. Here is an outline:
Product Showcases and Innovations
IBS 2025 included over 1,800 exhibitors, one of which includes more than 750 startup companies supporting the residential construction industry. This is the highest level of participation in 17 years! Exhibition space had expanded by 40% from the previous year in light of significant industry growth. Attendees were able to see products in person from appliances to building materials to smart home technology and the latest in home solutions from leading manufacturers.
Additionally, there were innovations in home automation and smart home design on display such as AI powered smart home systems for lighting, climate control, and security.
There is also a clear emphasis on sustainable, energy-efficient building materials, which are designed to withstand severe rain and wind or extreme weather events like wildfires and hurricanes – as well as artificial intelligence software for construction project management, cost estimation, and tracking materials, supporting builders being more efficient on the building site.
IBS 2025 also showcased new trends in interior design, including softer, more organic shapes, emphasizing nature in the exterior of homes.
Products and features related to indoor / outdoor living are growing in popularity – including the Pro Builder Show Village, an outdoor space that showcases structures attendees could walk through, complete with live demonstrations. There are also model homes demonstrating cutting-edge construction techniques.
One of the main attractions is a tour of The New American Home (TNAH). This model home was built specifically for the exhibition. It displays the newest developments in energy-efficient technologies and designs to incorporate smart home functions. Innovations included heated seats and mosquito control zones for a greater outdoor experience.
Education and Professional Development
There were over 120 educational sessions, workshops, and demonstrations taking place. The goal was to have a more in depth conversation about a range of subject matter from business. including strategy, building process, market trends, and sustainability. The program was broken into multiple tracks including Architecture & Design, Project Management, and Sales & Marketing.
However, it seemed that topics related to workforce issues and new ways to hire workers were placed in a greater spotlight. Again, this shows that the industry is aware of the worker shortage.
IBS 2025 also incorporated “Super Sessions” programmed on the main stage and “Learning Labs” which were shorter, more interactive sessions. The IBS event also featured a “Start-Up Pitch” where ten startups pitched their solutions. Villa, a precast accessory dwelling unit (ADU) company, was voted the “Most Innovative Start-Up” by the audience.
Networking and Community
There are many ways to connect with professionals at IBS. This event encourages meetings and partnerships and is the perfect forum to share new ideas, with more than 81,000 professionals attending. In addition to meetings, IBS also works with several industry associations including the NAHB, HIA (Housing Industry Association) to host events, education and networking sessions at IBS.
So, do not miss the International Builders’ Show (IBS), Las Vegas’s largest construction show. A place for innovation, education, or business connections just waiting for you! VBIA is especially interested in you, as a member of the residential construction industry.
